Basic Function: The Inside Sales/Power Team Associates' primary responsibilities include providing an effective and satisfying customer service experience through educating, promoting, and selling GNE's parts, services and rental grade power equipment to our dealer base, rental centers, and OEM networks. This individual will serve as first point of contact with potential customers and will enjoy learning, developing, and growing their knowledge base of GNE power equipment and other related brands.
Essential Functions:
- Ensures that all customers are assisted in a professional, courteous, reliable, honest, and responsive manner.
- Performs selling techniques on inbound and/or outbound calls.
- Enters customer orders.
- Handles customer complaints and assists with problem situations.
- Ensures effective communication and implementation of approved sales plans and programs.
- Provides technical support.
- Ensures that the Power Team department is adequately protected against theft or other suspicious activity.
- Handles confidential information with the utmost judgment and discretion.
- Keeps supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information necessary for effective management.
- Coordinates with other departments to collect/update customer information for establishing and maintaining customer accounts.
- Performs all other duties as assigned or apparent.
- Attends training as directed by GNE.
Secondary Functions:
- Provides customer feedback to marketing and other members of the sales staff.
- Supports sales department at on-site customer events.
Qualifications and Experience:
Required
- High School education or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of related retail, rental, distributor, customer service, sales, or technical experience.
- Strong people skills with ability to relate to peoples' needs and concerns while still being able to accomplish the Company's goals.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- High mechanical aptitude.
- Must exhibit strong decision-making qualities.
- Ability to relate well to others and gain the respect of co-workers.
- Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide range of Company personnel and others.
- Knowledge of or experience with small engines, power equipment, contractors and construction equipment.
- Previous phone sales experience.
- Experience with a CRM.
Travel: Travel locally with outside sales 2-3 times annually.
