Job Details

Position Summary 

This position supports the efforts of the Human Resources Department.  This includes the areas of recruitment, on-boarding, labor and employee relations, professional development, benefit administration, billings, salary administration, retirement programs, and other administrative duties as assigned. 

Essential Responsibilities
  •  Recruitment, On-Boarding, and Position Management
  • Assists recruitment scheduling and candidate coordination, including applicant software and background checks; manages the union bid process for Grand Forks
  • Responsible for communicating new hire data, start date communications, nepotism checks, and announcements on PowerSource; this includes compliance and other need-to-know staff
  • Originates personnel change workflows, including hires, terminations, and changes
  • Responsible for Drug Test processes

    2.  Training and Events 
  • Works with the Workforce Development Coordinator to facilitate the activities of the Grand Forks Employee Events Committee
  • Assists with activities related to the annual Employee Information Meetings, annual Employee Recognition events, and the Service Recognition gift program
  • Coordinates the flower/memorial program for impacted employees in Grand Forks
  • Assists scheduling training, speakers, and other educational events as directed
  • Assists with classes and documents courses, attendance, and events within the Learning Management System (LMS)

             3. Benefits and Salary Administration
  • Assures documentation/forms for benefit processing are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner
  • Prepares documents for terminating and retiring employees, including assisting with COBRA rights and notifications
  • Responsible for the maintenance and updating of employment information in the HRIS and ERP
  • Responsible for keying, processing, and coordinating benefit adds or changes; coordinates Life Change events within the HRIS
  • Assists Total Rewards Coordinator with preparing billings for medical, dental, life, and other insurances; corrects and verifies billing statements for charges and correct enrollment data, including wage changes

  • 4. Other Administration
  • Manages record retention of all HR employee file and benefit file documentation
  • Responsible for responding to employment verification requests
  • Maintains a printable Organizational Chart on PowerSource

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education

    Required:
    • Two year-associates degree and 3 years of work experience (or equivalent)

    Experience

    Preferred:
    • Experience in Human Resources/a similar role
    • Experience using an HRIS system
    • Experience in a union environment/industrial setting

     

    The pay range for this position begins at $25.00 per hour. Appropriate compensation will be determined based on a candidate\u0027s skills, education, and previous relevant experience.
