Position Information

Do you enjoy sports, recreation, and working with students? The Wellness Center is looking for an individual to join our team as our Recreation and Intramural Coordinator. This is a full-time benefitted position with 10 paid holidays, paid vacation and sick time, fully-funded (no premium) FAMILY health insurance, free tuition for employees and tuition discounts for dependents, and an excellent retirement contribution. The Recreation and Intramural Coordinator is responsible for the development, delivery, management, and evaluation of all intramurals, climbing, and outdoor adventure programs and services. This position recruits, trains, schedules, mentors, and provides leadership to approximately fifty part-time student staff and one graduate assistant, ensuring that all programs are offered in a safe and inclusive environment. Other responsibilities include: managing all operations for programs and outdoor trips, budget, facility scheduling, risk management, and the inventory, maintenance, and purchase of recreation equipment.

Work Schedule:

M-F 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional nights/weekends with flexibility

Advertised Salary:

$49,000+/year

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in sport league management
  • Demonstrated experience training, leading, and supervising student and/or full-time staff in a recreational setting
  • Knowledge of sport rules and administration
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills to meet requirements while balancing multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional nights and weekends
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certified within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Recreation, Sport Management, Physical Education, or other related field
  • Experience working with climbing wall programs
  • Experience working with outdoor programs
  • Experience training and supervising sport officials
  • Experience working in campus recreation
  • Experience with IM Leagues, SubitUp, and Innosoft Fusion Recreation Management systems
