JOB SUMMARY:

We are now accepting resumes for full-time or part-time School-Based Therapists across our School-Based programs! Professional Services Group provides school-based services in various districts in Kenosha, western Kenosha and Racine counties, Walworth County, West Allis, and Washington County. Our programs work with children and their families who are struggling with academic and behavioral concerns within the school environment.


Providing mental health services within the school increases access to services for families who may not be able to go to an outpatient clinic on their own. School-Based staff go directly into the school to provide intervention, including: individual and group therapy, education/consultation for school personnel, and family therapy as needed.


Ideal candidates will enjoy having summers off or reduced summer hours. Part-time summer hours are available in addition to those associated with the 9-month salary. Candidates should have an interest in providing services to students K-12 in a school setting. Those with experience with working with schools and an understanding family systems, the effects and treatment of children and teens who have suffered emotional trauma are also preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assess the therapeutic needs of clients and complete formal assessments.
  • Create and review client treatment plans.
  • Provide psychotherapy in accordance with the child's treatment plans.
  • Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skill in addressing family system, mental health, parenting, and alcohol/drug issues through individual, family, or group counseling.
  • Organize and facilitate structured group, individual and/or family activities.
  • Provide consultation to the child's school and school personnel as needed.
  • Coordinate services and maintain communication with all service providers involved with the clients.

POSITION HOURS AND LOCATION: Position is based at assigned school locations and are dependent on the location and districts. This position may require travel to multiple schools during the school day. Hours vary dependent on the school hours of operation, but typical hours will occur Monday-Friday 7:30-5:00pm. Position operates during 9-month school year, with the opportunity to continue working part-time through summer months.

SALARY: Both part-time and full-time options are available. Full-time is salaried for the 9-month academic year and is paid out over that 9-month period. All staff will be moved to an hourly rate during the three months of summer.

Training License: $22.00-24.00 per hour

Fully Licensed: $28.00-32.00 per hour

Requirements:
  • Must possess a Master's Degree and licensed to provide mental health therapy in the State of Wisconsin.
  • Pre-licensed therapists are also welcome to apply, and supervision is provided as part of the work environment.
  • Minimum of 1,000 hours of clinical experience is preferred.
