Derivative Designer (Jr.)

We are currently recruiting for a Jr. Derivative Designer to join our Minnesota team!

Job Summary: As an Jr. Derivative Designer at Permasteelisa North America, You will be a key member of a project team challenged by the unique nature of every project we create. If you are the right candidate for this position, you will use your engineering background to assist the Derivative Designer by transforming the initial conceptual design using CAD into working submittal documents, and to produce fabrication documents from these submittal documents.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for developing an overall understanding of project specifications, including the typologies, areas and systems used in various projects
• Responsible for adhering to the project "Phases" determined by the Design Project Manager
• Study and develop shop drawings, fabrication drawings and PMF
• To report to DDL & PDM any slips or deviations from program which might occur

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor degree preferred, or Associate degree (with relevant experience) in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering
• Must be proficient in Auto CAD, and/or Solidworks; experience with Microsoft Office

Preferred qualifications:

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Excellent communication skills are a must.
