JOB DESCRIPTION
Education: Master's Degree
Qualifications: Must have or be eligible for a North Dakota teaching license qualified to teach Reading. Three (3) years of successful classroom teaching experience with primary experience preferred.
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
Work closely with their building principal to meet the unique needs of the school population in Reading Interventions. Provide Tier 2/3 literacy interventions to students. As integral partners in PLC and MTSS, help review data and determine groups for Tier 1 guided instruction. Assist in aligning existing student interventions provided by school staff (e.g. Title 1, ELL, special education, classroom teacher) to ensure clear communication, congruent instruction, common language and applicable progress monitoring. Participate, coordinate or lead professional learning sessions with Teachers, Principals and IDCs. Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment and Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally walk and stand. The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; Maintain effective audio/visual discrimination and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned duties; Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others.
Terms of Employment: 188 days contract
Evaluation: By the Principal at least twice each year in the first three years of service (December 15 & April 15), and at least once each year thereafter (April 15).
