Job Summary:

The Human Resources Manager plays a key role in providing both strategic and tactical support to develop and coordinate programs which directly support the achievement of business objectives. This position supports Sleepy Eye site client groups and managers, and is supported by corporate functional teams in managing the day-to-day Human Resource functions including employee relations, training, performance management, on-boarding, policy implementation, employee engagement, recruiting and selection, and employment law compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in site leadership strategic discussions ensuring people initiatives and objectives align with goals and provide metrics-driven recommendations to drive continual business improvements (ex. workforce planning, succession planning)
  • Works closely with the team to build a positive company culture, resulting in increased productivity and employee retention through recognition programs, feedback platforms and appreciation events
  • Responsible for planning and implementing actions to the corporate Talent team, and managing the employee hiring process for the site to meet overall business needs and production timelines
  • Facilitates onboarding and new hire training initiatives as needed through leadership and delegation to the site Coordinator
  • Manages and develops working partnership with the site Coordinator role
  • Improves employee performance at all levels by identifying and clarifying issues and evaluating potential solutions; Partner with leaders on performance management counseling, development and corrective actions as needed
  • Manages employee relations issues by conducting thorough and objective investigations, providing conflict mediation and follow-up resolution counseling as needed
  • Provides policy guidance and interpretation, and assists in the development, rollout and implementation of identified change opportunities
  • Liaison with applicable vendors on site Worker's Compensation claim management as well as employee FMLA/ADA leave management
  • Identifies and executes team training and individual coaching opportunities, then follows through to ensure objectives are met
  • Maintain accountability ensuring HRIS system record accuracy and confidentiality
  • Responsible for remaining compliant on relevant federal employment laws and other human resources federal and state regulations
  • All other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in HR related field is preferred and 3-5 years human resources experience
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of HR experience including direct Employee Relations Management
  • HR experience in a Manufacturing environment would be highly preferred, as well as exposure to Manufacturing Safety Requirements and Regulations
  • Key skills and abilities include coaching, influencing, facilitation, process development, HR metrics and analysis, team-building, problem solving, reliability and confidentiality
  • Must possess strong communication skills, collaboration skills, and computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of EEO and Federal employment laws
  • This position would sit onsite serving our Clearwater and St. Petersburg locations
