Northrop Grumman is seeking an NDT Engineering Technician 2 for our location in Plymouth, MN.

The development of smart armament systems, designed to increase the competitive advantage of our armed forces, is accelerating. This has increased the need for a non-destructive test technician who has a passion for technology development, paired with demonstrated expertise in customer service excellence. For this position, technicians are required to provide prior NDT experience documentation and certification that will meet NAS 410 current revision requirements. This team member will drive to continually outperform the competition and exceed customer expectations while acting with integrity, loyalty, and respect.

The technician will primarily utilize radiographic, ultrasonic and eddy current technologies to provide inspection service support to the design team here in Plymouth, as wells as to our test facility at the Proving Grounds in Elk River.

Radiographic capabilities include acquisition and analysis utilizing various radiographic technologies, including conventional x-ray and computed tomography.

Responsibilities:

Support our production activities through various NDT testing applications.

Conduct radiographic testing, including acquisition and analysis, utilizing conventional x-ray, flash x-ray and computed tomography.

Conduct ultrasonic testing.

Conduct eddy current.

Become part of the product team and form close working relationships by understanding the whole system function and presenting solutions and design direction to the design community in an insightful and timely manner.

Basic Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience

Meet the NAS 410 requirements for Level 2 radiography, ultrasound and eddy current inspection methods.

Excellent computer competency with the ability to use MS Office applications as well as image processing.

Must be able to work without direct supervision.

US Citizenship is required and able to acquire a DOD Secret Level Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of 4 years of aerospace experience in a quality organization.

Experience using and maintaining Nikon CT systems.

Understanding of mechanical metallurgical laboratory activities.

Experience with mechanical ordnance components, electrical components including printed circuit cards as well as explosive and energetic components.

Prior or current DOD secret level clearance.

Salary Range: $49,400 USD - $82,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
