About the Reflections Behavioral Health Unit
Lakewood Reflections Intensive Inpatient program is a behavioral health program for older adults with psychiatric, emotional, or behavioral disorders. Lakewood Reflections offers intensive and comprehensive individualized mental healthcare in an inpatient setting for adults 55 and older, including Physician management of care, overall healthcare, and skilled nursing. The Lakewood Reflections Intensive Inpatient program allows for around-the-clock oversight and treatment of behavioral disturbances affecting an individual's functioning.

As a TEAM, we work together to cover the 24/7 needs of the unit and offer flexible scheduling with eight or 12-hour shifts, full or part-time hours available, with creative scheduling to minimize weekend impacts
Mission for R.N. Behavioral Health
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide intensive and comprehensive individualized mental healthcare in an inpatient setting for adults 55 years and older struggling with psychiatric, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients, families, and friends
  • Obtain accurate histories and complete nursing assessments at admission and reassess routinely throughout the patient's stay
  • Plan, implement, and coordinate nursing care activities and individualized treatment plans
  • Perform treatment intervention, conduct therapies, and administer medications following the patient's diagnosis, needs, and physician orders.
  • Interpret the nursing and treatment needs of the patient to nonclinical staff assigned to the patient
  • Collaborate with physicians, multidisciplinary team members, and outside health and social agencies.
  • Provide efficient discharge plans and obtain accurate histories at admission
  • Observe patients to report and record symptoms or changes appropriately
  • Attend to patient's personal needs (oral hygiene, toileting, bathing, dressing, ambulating etc.) as required following physician orders
  • Complete all required documentation relevant to patients promptly and efficiently.
  • Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and regulatory standards
  • As needed, and using approved methods, assist in safely placing patients in seclusion or restraints; observe suicide/seclusion precautions; including physical requirements for physical holds and safe transport of patients
  • Maintain continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to safety standards; infection-control policies and protocols; medication administration and storage procedures; and controlled substance regulations.

Full & Part-time opportunities available with EMPLOYEE-FOCUSED scheduling!

Consistent days off with a 4-week rotation.

Choose your schedule!:
  • Eight-hour shifts and every other weekend OR
  • 12-hour shifts and only work every fourth weekend
  • Eight-hour shifts
    06:30-15:00, 14:30-23:00, 22:30-07:00.
  • 12-hour shifts
    06:30-19:00 and 18:30-07:00

Starting pay does not include additional compensation available through:
  • Competitive shift differential (PM/Noc), shift pick-up, overtime
  • Increases based on certifications, experience, or additional duties (i.e. charge nurse)
Qualifications
Qualifications
  • Be an accredited nursing school graduate with a current Minnesota RN license
  • Maintain CPR Certification on a bi-annual basis

Physical Demands
RNs work in close contact with patients who have moderate to severe psychiatric concerns and behavioral issues. There is the possibility that RNs could be exposed to violent behavior from patients with behavioral problems as part of their daily duties.

RNs must sit, stand, walk, and assist with ambulating and lifting patients.

This position in a health care facility is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts, holidays, and work during inclement weather will be required.
