Summary

CHS, Inc. has an exciting opportunity within our Global Grain and Processing business unit located in Mankato, MN. We are looking for a Sr. Reliability Engineer to play a key role in maintaining, designing and advising of recommendations for equipment, systems and parts for our grain processing plants. The ideal candidate must be detailed-oriented, results-driven with a commitment to quality, accuracy and the ability to organize and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines. Excellent communications, skills with a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to work in both a team environment and on self-directed tasks are necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Review, update and/or establish new/existing equipment by engineering standards and purchase specifications.
  • Direct, oversee, and provide technical assistance with regard to routine maintenance and major overhauls of equipment.
  • Write repair and maintenance procedures and standards.
  • Determine spare parts requirements and specify parts for purchases.
  • Apply technical expertise in the areas of rerating, troubleshooting, materials of construction, and operability of rotating equipment.
  • Provide technical direction and design input for process and installation design of rotating equipment.
  • Apply technical expertise in the areas of lubrication, mechanical seals and systems, vibration analysis, machine monitoring, IR thermography, and ultrasound.
  • Assist with initial start-up and operation of major equipment.
  • Select equipment for the application based on lift cost analysis.
  • Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis on equipment and systems.
  • Occasionally direct and oversee contractors, including developing scope for overhauls, and arranging for service technicians.
  • Required to perform other duties as may be reasonably assigned

Minimum Qualifications (required)
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Agricultural, Civil, Electrical, Biosystems Engineering, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in Engineering and/or Reliability Engineering

Additional Qualifications
  • Able to read/interpret pump curves, process flow diagrams, and GA drawings
  • Able to function in a team/cooperative environment
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook Planning and time management skills
  • PE Certification
  • PMP Training or Certification
  • Lean Training or Certification
  • Experience with recip trap, vibration analysis, and thermography technologies
  • Level 2 or higher vibration analysis certification
  • Project installation experience
  • Experience working with repair shops

Physical Requirements
  • Travel 15 - 25% of time

Compensation: This includes base wage and may consist of other earnings depending upon position within CHS, consisting of bonuses, incentives, commissions, merit pay. This position may be an opportunity for promotion.
