Position Overview:

Do you want to make an impact as part of the Accounting team? Do you like working in Accounts Payable in manufacturing? Green Bay Packaging GB Shipping Container Division is looking for an Accountant to join our family-oriented team! The Accountant will oversee accounts payable, inventory management, intercompany transactions, finanical reporting, and account analysis.

Responsibilities:
  • Daily oversight and processing of accounts payable to ensure accurate and timely payment distributions.
  • Guide accounts payable clerical staff by coordinating workload and addressing questions.
  • Work in conjunction with the Controller to establish work standards, develop objectives, and design/maintain effective workflows and operating procedures in relation to accounts payable.
  • Responsible for management of accounting transactions in support of the accounts payable, inventory, machinery repair spends, and intercompany transactions including establishing and maintaining account reconciliations and appropriate policies.
  • Prepare account entries by compiling and analyzing account information for the month end and year end close processes.
  • Compile, analyze, and report financial data for month end and year end reporting.
  • Support year end audit by conducting physical inventory counts, supplying financial reports, and addressing auditor questions.
  • Perform account audits and resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage/audit sales and use tax as it relates to vendor invoicing.
  • Assist Sr Payroll Coordinator with hourly plant payroll.
  • Assist others within the Accounting Department with daily invoicing, payroll, and Outside Fab processing when needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Accounting degree.
  • 2-5 years of genral accounting experience including month end close, accounts payable, and fixed asset management.
  • A minimum of 3 years of computer experience with Excel.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills, demonstrated integrity and ethical standards, able to work independently.
