POSITION SUMMARY/ Details:

Looking for a strong data engineer who has experience working with large sets of data and modern cloud technologies. Must be interested in building scalable database solutions to deliver clear business insights from raw data. In addition, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of data engineers. This is a contract to hire position, and we are looking for someone who can be on site at business headquarters in Milwaukee, WI once a week.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in developing information architecture and data migration strategies.
• You will develop database designs and models, as well as relational data definitions.
• Code and implement ETL.
• Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of master data management systems.
• Provide support for master data management (MDM) system development, implementation, and maintenance.
• Help to establish governance, integrity processes, and compliance of data across organization to eliminate redundancy.
• Partner with internal and external customers to understand and document the data needs for the business and translate them into data warehousing and data mart requirements.
• Analyze data issues and work with development teams for problem resolutions.
• Enhance the quality of our data by profiling it and implementing preventative measures and quality metrics to identify issues.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to establish appropriate data access management.
• Design the common customer view of information.
• Establish a framework for representing the data elements, including entities, relationships, and attributes.
• Develop and maintain all technical documentation - data definitions, data sources, business meaning, etc.
• Provide coaching and training to customers on the use of business intelligence tools so that business decisions can be made more effectively.
• Manage a team of data engineers. Provide leadership, coaching and development to team.
• Direct the production of regular reports and analysis on data.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• 4+ years of data engineering and reporting experience
• Expertise with data quality tools for data profiling, cleansing and standardization preferred.
• Experience working with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Experience with BI tools (ex. Power BI and competitors)

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Must have a solid understanding of logical database design principles.
• Understand the methodologies and technologies that depict the flow of data between technology systems and business functions/operations.
• Strong analytical and attention to detail skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members.
• Plus, for experience working with cloud data solution (Snowflake, Redshift BigQuery)
