What to Expect

The team is seeking a SR. ELECTRICAL ENGINEER - NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT who will use their expertise in electrical engineering and product development to solve some of ElectroSea's most challenging problems. If you are a superstar at developing new products and enjoy a results-oriented, entrepreneurial environment, then this is the role for you. This leadership role reports to the Vice President of R&D.

What You'll Do

Perform electrical design of new products and existing manufactured products including concept, design, qualification, and launch. Generate embedded system designs, schematics and PCB layout using Altium. Write product firmware using various integrated design environments in C. Design electro-mechanical systems through team collaboration and design in Solid Works. Perform design analysis using engineering theory, computational tools, and bench testing. Create prototypes using quick-turn PCB services, 3D printing, machining and other processes. Design and test for electromagnetic compatibility. Carry out product testing to validate performance and reliability. Perform and support engineering, pre-pilot, and production builds for new products and support development of the manufacturing process. Design and maintain production test equipment, fixtures, tools, and process.   • Design, develop and maintain product lines using sound engineering principles including electrical design in Altium and firmware design in various IDEs
  • Generate innovative product concepts using current and new technologies
  • Evaluate designs using engineering calculations, design analysis tools, and prototyping
  • Create test plans, execute testing and analyze results to improve and validate product designs
  • Provide technical support to other departments regarding all aspects of product design, product performance and manufacturing
  • Create production documentation including assembly instructions and test plans
  • Resolve issues in design, validation and production
  • Use design for manufacture principles when designing parts and assemblies
  • Bring new products to market and support all in-field products
  • Participate in design as well as process reviews (i.e. DFMEA and PFMEA)

What You'll Bring

  • Track record of successful mass-produced products for the consumer, industrial or medical device markets (i.e. appliances, toys, electronics, automotive components)
  • Experience with embedded systems, user interfaces, communication networks, pumps, motors, sensors and other electromechanical systems
  • Experience with low voltage electrical systems, EMC, and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate a multi-functional team
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial and enjoys the challenge of wearing many hats
  • Relentless focus on bringing customer centric, innovative products to market

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in Electronic product development using Altium
  • 10+ years of experience in Firmware design in C.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in HVAC industrial or residential systems
  • Experience with electro-chemical, water filtration or other anti-fouling systems
  • Experience with mass produced products for the consumer market (i.e. appliances, toys, electronics, automotive components)
  • AC / DC motor control design/testing experience
  • Knowledge of product regulatory requirements (UL, CE, ISO, MIL_STD, etc.)

Salary range: $90,000 - $145,000 yearly
