The Security Officer I plays a significant role in ensuring a safe, secure, and friendly environment by enforcing security policies and being responsible for safeguarding Kohler Co. and the Kohler brand. This is accomplished by identifying risks, maintaining security processes to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure or liability in all areas: financial, physical, and personnel.

The LODGE KOHLER Security Officer I is a friendly resource to individuals who need assistance, medical aid, crisis intervention, or local directions. They respond quickly in emergency situations as an integral team member and serve to protect the property, guests, visitors, and employees of Kohler Co.

This is a 3rd shift position: Thursday - Monday 8:00pm CT - 4:00am CT, however, must be flexible to accommodate business needs.
  • Use an analytical approach to assess a situation to determine proper escalation in the notification process.
  • T rain and supervise Event Security Professionals, overseeing daily shift operations.
  • Support the Manager on Duty for guest related security events.
  • Conduct patrols of the facility including parking lots, looking for open doors, suspicious activity, other potential risks to the facility, associates, guests, or visitors.
  • Support the hotel access control system, including but not limited to programming doors, assigning keys, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Monitor the company's surveillance and detection systems related to security, access control, fire, and intrusion alarms for Lodge Kohler. Acting as the point of contact for situations involving routine security issues as well as emergencies.
  • Responsible for generating reports regarding security incidents.
  • Responsible for the protection, safeguarding, and security of associates, customers, visitors and assets.
  • Monitor daily activities to guard against theft and maintain security of the premises.
  • Enforce all Corporate Security policies and procedures.
  • Set the example for team members in all areas, especially in behavior and personal appearance.
  • Consistently deliver outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Take the lead in improving security processes and procedures by identifying specific problems or deficiencies.

Skills/Requirements
  • High School education or GED: two-year college degree preferred (Police Science, Criminal Justice, Police Administration or Liberal Arts).
  • Law Enforcement, Industrial Security, or Military Police experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Maintain required certification in Enhanced First Aid.
Physical Requirements

The minimum physical requirements of Security Officers include:
  • The ability to transport emergency medical equipment, such as medical bags and oxygen equipment, weighing approximately 50 pounds, from a vehicle to the scene of the emergency and appropriately utilize such equipment at the scene.
  • The ability to ascend and descend fixed or portable ladders to access roof and other areas in the event of an emergency.
  • The ability to be certified and correctly perform CPR, unassisted, as defined by the Heart Saver, CPR, AED & First Aid and operate an automatic external defibrillator.
  • Be able to provide verbal instructions in an emergency situation in a clear and intelligible manner.
  • The ability to legally operate a passenger automobile or light truck.

  • Submit reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, accidents, presence of unauthorized persons, suspicious activities, or unusual occurrences to Security Supervisor daily.

  • Maintain emotional control and work effectively during emergencies, crisis situations, or extremely stressful conditions.
  • Consistently speak in a clear, well-modulated voice.
  • Memorize, retain, and accurately recall information.

  • Represent Kohler Co. and Corporate Security in a professional and respectful manner to all guests and associates during daily activities.
  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance.
  • Be able to work a flexible schedule such as holidays, weekends, irregular hours, or extended shifts with short notice.
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Be alert/focused at all times and safety conscious.
  • Operate security equipment in a safe and respectful manner at all times.
  • Provide guidance for others using effective decision making/problem solving skills.
  • Work independently and encourage the same from his/her co-workers.
  • Uses speaking and writing skills to effectively motivate others to act.
  • Comfortable interacting with executive-level decision makers.
  • Participate in conflict resolution. Model and promote teamwork.
