Staff Accountant - Financial Services

In this role, you will have responsibility over the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. Many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close will be your responsibility. In addition, you will look over schedules for the reporting processes, participate in compliance, and keep in touch with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. An involved position, you will be producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This New Brighton, Minnesota based firm has a long-term contract / temporary to hire position available, and offers an innovative work environment where effort is rewarded.

What you get to do every day

- Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

- Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner

- Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules

- Participate in various department-wide initiatives

- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed

- Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision

- Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

- Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

- Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

- Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management
