About this role:

Consumer Credit Card financial reporting team needs a Financial Accountant to consolidate external filing process support and ensure COSO compliance. Specifically focusing on SEC and Regulatory reporting, the role has to understand data flow to ensure external filing accuracy and completeness. In addition to COSO standards, it ensures internal Governance and Oversight Framework compliance by partnering with Consumer Credit Card loan accounting team and other Controller teams to ensure appropriate business transactions and system of record data. Team member also conducts research to understand loan modifications, purchase accounting, new product accounting impacts and various corporate strategic initiatives (i.e., credit card securitization, data strategies, etc.). In this role, you will:
  • Perform complex activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts, developing financial statements and regulatory reports
  • Gather/review financial data from general ledger, unit reports and various financial systems to prepare financial and regulatory reports
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations and certifications
  • Analyze projects relating to financial accounting procedures, methods or systems
  • Perform ongoing financial control functions in accordance with internal controls policies
  • Deliver compliance/risk management/functional advice to various stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting or Risk Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • 2+ years SEC/Regulatory quarterly reporting; Fiserv knowledge/understanding
  • COSO-based Sarbanes-Oxley internal control assessment execution
  • 1+ year credit card industry reporting; corporate/commercial loan products knowledge
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Big 4/regional public accounting/financial services/credit card industry reporting
  • Intermediate Essbase/SmartView, advanced MS Excel with VLookup/pivot tables
  • Strong knowledge/experience in General Ledger reconciliations and automation tools
  • Independent judgment/creative problem solving to troubleshoot/identify/understand downstream impacts in complex matrixed environment
  • Knowledge/understanding of US GAAP financial statements or components preparation with ability to translate/summarize complex data into understandable, actionable information and recommendations
  • Demonstrated understanding of accounting/reporting/internal control issues facing large, diversified US financial services institutions
