Description & Details:

Transform people's lives. NDSU Extension empowers North Dakotans to improve their lives and communities through science-based education.?Lead dynamic food and nutrition Extension programs in Dunn and Stark Counties, North Dakota targeting Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)-eligible households.
  • Develop, plan, deliver, facilitate, and evaluate successful, research-based food and nutrition educational programs in food and nutrition, food preparation and physical activity to youth and adults from eligible households.
  • Listen to clientele, build networks to assess local needs and collaborate with communities of people.
  • Engage local stakeholders to initiate and expand community food and wellness projects.
  • Willing and able to travel and adjust to a flexible schedule (i.e., participate in evening and weekend programs).

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday

8:00- 5:00

Some evening and weekend work required

Advertised Salary:

Commensurate with qualifications and experience

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Science, Food and Nutrition, Education, or a closely related discipline.
  • Evidence of course work, professional development or work experience related to this position.
  • Information and educational technology skills necessary to work effectively, manage resources and disseminate information.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (orally and in writing) with individuals, groups and through mass media.
  • Organizational management skills including the ability to be self-directed in the work environment manage time and resources and keep good records.
  • Familiarity with various ethnic and socioeconomic audiences, an interest and ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds, and a commitment to the principles of diversity.
  • Personal vehicle and valid driver's license.

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in delivering food and nutrition educational programs.
  • Demonstrated work or volunteer experience with adult or youth from low-income households.
  • Knowledge of community-based programming, the geographic area and existing community partners to be served.
