Position Overview

Applicants are being accepted from qualified candidates for a full-time Human Resources Technician position at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College Administrative Office in Shell Lake. This position will assist with the payroll process, assist in the administration of all benefits programs offered by the College, and provide support to Collegewide recruitment, risk management, and professional development processes.

Qualifications:

1. Two years related post-secondary coursework (Associate Degree preferred) and four years related work experience.
2. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
3. Ability to plan, organize and effectively present ideas and concepts.
4. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of accounting and financial systems.
5. Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet software, powerpoints, etc.
6. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
7. Essential to have college-level math and communication skills.
8. Knowledge of HR processes and systems, PeopleSoft, ImageNow, PeopleAdmin, desirable.
9. Ability to obtain drivers license and insurance coverage in accordance with College policy.

Job Description

*HR Department Support Process travel and expense reports, reservations for staff statewide meetings, answer phones and be the main contact for the HR Department.
*New Hire Processing Carry out the flow of new hire processes for HR. Receive paperwork, prioritize timing with HR processes, and communicate with hiring supervisors.
*PeopleSoft Testing Etime and Cognos for PeopleSoft testing.
*Data entry to PeopleSoft.
*Route paperwork using ImageNow.
*Orientation Schedule dates, invite attendees, conduct office tours, create binders, set up rooms for orientation and tear down after.
*Recruitment Work with the recruitment process to provide support to the process including drafting advertisements, posting, answering applicant questions, etc. *Schedule interviews, maintain and create content for various websites, organize and file completed recruitment packets, log cases with PeopleAdmin.
*Certification/Credentialing Obtain Certification Documentation from applicable staff/incorporate into electronic format.
*Benefits Assist employees with benefit related questions and leave, input data as assigned.
*Payroll Review for accuracy, verify and correct needed payroll records in the Etime system, input data as assigned.
*Unemployment Report and Employment Verification Processing Receive phone and paper requests for unemployment and employment verification and prepare draft responses.
*Assist in the creation and duplication of employee contracts, employment letters and non-renewal notices.
*Collegewide Staff requests New email account set-up, answer procedural questions, research solutions to questions.
*Professional Development Assist with grant budgeting, scheduling, training and professional development sessions including set up and creating PowerPoint presentations.
*Safety Train and serve as back up for all college-wide safety matters such as maintaining totals for manager, assist with implementing safety requirements, implement training plan, setting up committee meetings/minutes, etc., and keep College wide plan updated.
*Website design/updates Maintain the Human Resources recruitment website and the intranet, The Connection, for Human Resources.
*Metrics Maintain data on department activities for fiscal year reports.
*Front desk support Train and serve as back up to assist with the front desk in answering phones and conference room set-up.
*Research Perform research for departmental projects including surveys and compile data as requested.
*Draft correspondence/responses to questions to department.
*Other duties as assigned.
