Job Summary:

The Vision SF50 Training Manager will be part of the Vision SF50 Management team, based at the Cirrus Vision Center in Knoxville TN, responsible for the development and oversight of the all training courseware and curriculum for the Cirrus Vision SF50 aircraft. Additionally, the Training Manager will work to standup and oversee the 14 CFR part 142 training center primarily focused on training courseware, curriculum and quality and standardization of instruction. Finally, the Training Manager will liaison with other foreign aviation authorities to obtain additional authorizations to provide training for foreign pilot certifications. Applicants must be capable of leveraging technology to deploy training systems in a concise, easy to use, and meaningful method in line with Cirrus training philosophies. Management experience in a 142 Training Center is required. Current FAA CFII and second class or great medical certificate is required. Must be willing to relocate to Knoxville Tennessee.

Essential Duties:
  • Plan, design, and develop engaging and effective training materials, syllabi, training systems for the Cirrus SF50 Vision Jet while leveraging available technology
  • Develop and oversee 14 CFR part 142 authorization for applicable segments of the training system
  • Develop and oversee additional training certification from foreign aviation authorities including Brazil, EASA, Australia and more.
  • Accurately plan project timelines and resource requirements
  • Adhere to project timelines, budget, and scope
  • Process and maintain a deep level of aircraft knowledge and be a model aviator, flight instructor, and Cirrus representative
  • Operate Cirrus aircraft in accordance with applicable regulations and Cirrus company policies
  • Develop courseware and curriculum in a fashion the meets regulatory requirements but allows appropriate levels of flexibility to meet the training needs of owner pilots
  • Keep flight safety the highest priority in all developmental and oversight activities.
  • Help to establish and maintain a culture that puts flight safety as the highest priority
  • Develop and maintain the highest levels of instructor standardization and quality of instruction.
  • Effective speaker in front of large and small groups

Education and/or Experience:
  • Current and active FAA certified Flight Instructors only
  • Management experience in 14 CFR 142 Training Center required
  • Instructional design/training development experience required
  • Previous teaching experience in type rated aircraft required
  • Simulator, Level D, teaching experience required
  • Former or current TCE preferred
  • Cirrus Training Partner Preferred

Additional Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to work cross functionally with other departments and outside vendors
  • Large and small group presentation experience required
  • Project planning and organizational experience required

Certificate or Licensures:
  • FAA Certified Flight Instructor w/ Instrument (CFII) required
  • FAA 1 st or 2 nd class medical required
  • Former TCE preferred
