Job Purpose:
Lead efforts to optimize manufacturing operations through the design and integration of processes via various engineering skillsets.

Job Summary:
Leads Continues Improvement activities for Operations value stream that drives improvements in safety, quality, cost, and delivery. Builds and develops processes, procedures and tooling to support strategic direction and new programs. Reporting to this position includes: Manufacturing and Tooling Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Machining center. This team is comprised of approximately 40 individuals.

Responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Reducing overall cost in the manufacturing value stream by improving safety, quality, cost and delivery.
• Lead manufacturing organization in the areas of Lean Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering Product Development, Tooling, new product introductions, and Machining.
• Recruit, assign, direct, coach and evaluate engineers to support departmental and plant goals.
• Ensures concurrent development of tool, process, and facilities planning in conjunction with design or rate change implementations. Conducts tool design, facilities plans, and planning sequence reviews as required.
• Directs implementation and execution of Manufacturing Services policies and practices. Overall owner of Cirrus Design Manufacturing Procedures (CDMP’s) for update, ownership and development.
• Establishes and maintains critical relationships with internal and external customers.
• Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
• Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Demonstrated Performance Competencies:
• Minimum of 7 years in a similar management role with direct supervision.
• Proven ability to coach members with specific and measurable objectives in areas such as people management, leadership, and quality.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Industrial/Manufacturing. Business Administration degree acceptable with strong operations/lean background.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite.
• Aerospace background is not a requirement
• Technical skills in Lean Manufacturing techniques, Kaizen, Process Improvement, materials management and production scheduling.
• Strong customer orientation.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the company. Strong presentation skills.
• Ability to effectively handle escalations and time critical issues. Remains productive, provides solutions, and meets goals in challenging situations.
• Skilled at coordinating multiple efforts, organizing and prioritizing work, communicating technical issues, and supervising a team of individuals with differing levels of skill and experience, enabling them to achieve performance and quality standards.
• Articulates ideas clearly and concisely in a variety of settings, adjusting the message to match the audience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
• Proficient at maintaining budgets and cost effectiveness; interprets financial reports and takes appropriate corrective actions.
• Ability to work within and develop high performance teams; strong team player.
