This position will be based in Duluth, Minnesota. Candidate will report directly to the Vice President of Product Development and oversee a team of roughly 30 engineers and will have responsibility over Mechanical Systems, Airframe Powerplant, and Equipment & Furnishing for both the SR (piston) and SF (jet) platforms.

Duties and Responsibilites:

• Oversee all Mechanical Systems, Powerplant, and Equipment & Furnishing operations.
• Develop, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of mechanical production, including manufacturing methods and operation of product designs.
• Act as a key driver in the development of the technology roadmap, and provide support for its execution.
• Work closely with the Chief Engineers, Project Managers and Marketing Managers of each platform, ensuring that all parties are aligned and working in the most effective manner to accomplish engineering goals.
• Maintain an understanding of competitors' products, capabilities, and market strategies.
• Participate in management decision-making for the engineering organization, including helping to design the organizational chart, and improve the operational and business efficiencies of the company's Product Development organization.
• Evaluate use of existing and new enterprise-wide technology solutions to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot engineering failures, identify system shortcomings and affect remedial practices and procedures.
• Plan and control department staffing, succession planning, and professional development for employees.


• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Advanced degree is preferred.
