Hiring Department: Facilities - Lock Shop

Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification: $32,000/Annual,  Full-Time, Benefited, Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday (hours may vary)-May require some evening, night and weekend hours   *Summer hours may vary.

The Lockshop Maintenance Specialist will repair, design, and monitor mechanical security systems on the campus. 
Responsible for keeping track of keys on a computer system, repairing and installing new and existing systems, working with departments to provide a list of security systems that are available to meet their needs; and repair of existing locking devices.
LOCK AND INSTALLATION REPAIR: Verify information on request form, select appropriate lock to meet need for the application, and complete repair or installation of locks. 
KEY PRODUCTION AND TRACKING: Verify information on request forms, cut and stamp keys as authorized, complete records associated with key production, and maintain computerized key records. 
CORE PRODUCTION AND TRACKING: Verify information on request forms, pin/combinate cores as authorized, complete records associated with core production, and maintain computerized core records. 
SIGN PRODUCTION: Verify information on request forms, select and prepare appropriate sign medium for application, operate and maintain computerized engraving machine, and complete records associated with sign. 
CUSTOMER SERVICE: Field questions from customers and provide appropriate answers, prepare and provide annual key inventories for campus department, and communicate with customers and coworkers in a professional manner. 

This position will:

  • Interact, communicate, and deal with students, faculty, staff, and coworkers
  • Work in buildings containing asbestos materials
  • Lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly

Subject to call-backs 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. 

All duties are essential. 


Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with MS Excel and Word
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Criminal History Background Check

 
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years related work experience
  • Knowledge of UND campus layout/buildings
  • Knowledge and experience using PeopleSoft
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge/experience with FAMIS.
