The Patient Care Technician is responsible for providing direct care to patients and serving the needs of patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, and/or Department Director (possibly with guidance from an LPN) to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health. Provides personal hygiene care, assists with providing for nutritional needs, recognizes and promptly reports changes in patient condition to the RN, and maintains a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process. The Patient Care Technician works within job scope to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and accrediting agencies. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, coworkers and others.
