WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT (WWTP) . This position is represented by IBEW Local No. 31 (Brainerd Public Utility) Union contract describing wage and benefits.
Performs difficult technical work conducting chemical and bacteriological tests of wastewater and water ensuring compliance and conformity with requirements and regulations, prepares reports, maintains files and records and related work as required for BPU's Class A Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Wastewater Supervisor.

Education and Experience
Graduate of a Wastewater/Water Technology program or a related field and a minimum of five years' experience working in a wastewater treatment facility.
Bachelor's degree in science, chemistry, biology or related field and a minimum of two years' experience working in a wastewater treatment facility.
The experience noted in the above two bullets shall be conducting quality sampling and testing procedures preferably in the operation of a Class A activated sludge sequencing batch reactor wastewater treatment plant.
Experience in a Certified Laboratory is highly desirable.

Special Requirements
Possess a MPCA Class B Wastewater Operator Certificate.
Possess a MPCA Type 4 (Land Application) Sludge Certificate, Minnesota Special Class Boiler Operating Engineer's License, Minnesota Class A commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement, and MDH Water Class D Water Operator Certificate or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
Possession of Class A Wastewater and Class B Water Operator licenses are highly desirable.
