The primary purpose of this position is to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures to aid in the diagnosis determination in accordance with clinic policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform diagnostic quality ultrasound exams independently
  • Capture images via ultrasound to send to radiologist ensuring accurate clinical data
  • Review patient records for provider orders and complete orders when exam done
  • Present preliminary report to provider and communicate pertinent patient information
  • Maintain supply inventory to ensure availability of required items
  • Provide appropriate information for billing purposes to ensure prompt, detailed, and accurate data collection
  • Assist in maintenance of equipment to ensure proper function and availability
  • Train alternate staff to provide adequate staffing
  • Coordinate staffing coverage for ultrasound procedures to provide continuous service availability
  • Perform other duties as assigned

SUPPLEMENTAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Remain punctual, reliable, and available for late coverage if applicable
  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude while supporting the clinic vision
  • Maintain required certification and/or licensure applicable to degree
  • Maintain current BLS CPR certification
  • Maintain a neat and well groomed professional appearance
  • Work effectively and independently under pressure in a fast pace environment
  • Interact positively with all patients and interdisciplinary team members
  • Abide by clinic protocols, ergonomic recommendations, and OSHA standards
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information acquired through clinic employment
  • Adhere to the philosophy and provide comprehensive care according to a patient centered healthcare clinic

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION:

Minimum: Graduate of an accredited 2 year sonography program, accepted candidate of RDMS, or an accredited School of Radiologic Technology with at least 6 months on-the-job training in Ultrasound, ARRT, and RDMS registry.

Desired: RDMS Registered

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum: 6 months on-the-job training, excluding internship

Desired: 2 year ultrasound exposure; prefer OB/GYN experience

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Ability to work independently with minimal instruction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to utilize assessment skills and problem solve effectively
  • Proficient in ultrasonography procedures
