Animal Lab Technician
Hiring Department: Biomedical Sciences, School of Medicine and Health Sciences
Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification: $30,000 +/year, Full-Time, Benefitted, Non-Exempt

The Research Technician will be tasked with assisting in routine laboratory experiments as part of the new research group in COBRE Host-Microbe interaction program in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences. The Research Technician will work under the supervision of Principal Investigator.
Assist in routine laboratory experiments in infectious diseases immunology.
1. Performs evaluations for vaccines in mouse infection models, analyzes antibody and T cell immunity.
2. Performs mouse experiments: infections, organs/tissues extraction.
3. Flow cytometry, molecular biology.
4. Functions with direction from senior team members.
5. Breeding and maintenance of mouse colonies for routine lab experiments.
6. Ability to follow training and testing protocols as established within laboratory
Willingness to work with laboratory mice.
Willingness to be trained in mouse experimentation.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Adhere to lab safety procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the lab.
Associates Degree in Biology.
Lab experience in molecular biology, immunology, or microbiology.
Successful Criminal History Background Check.
B.S. degree is preferred, with major field of study in Biology.
Experience working with mice.
