SUMMARY:  Operate or tend oven and prepare parts for shipping.

RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:

  • Loads material to be processed, manually.

  • Weighs or measures specified amount of material or substance to be processed, using devices such as scales.

  • Removes product from equipment, manually or using hoist, and prepares for storage, shipment, or additional processing.

  • Reads and interprets work orders and instructions to determine work assignment, process specifications, and production schedule.

  • Transports materials and products to and from work area, manually or using cart or forklift.

  • Confers with supervisor or other equipment operators to report equipment malfunction or resolve problems resulting from process changes.

  • Cleans using items such as scrapers, solvents, air hose, oil, and hand tools.

  • Presses and adjusts controls to activate, set, and regulate equipment operation according to specifications.

  • Monitors equipment operation, gauges, and panel lights to detect deviation from standards.

 

 

EDUCATION (OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE):  Less than high school diploma or GED.

 

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:  Forklift training certificate or the ability to receive it.

 

EXPERIENCE:  Knowledge of WASP, Inc., products preferred.

 

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES REQUIRED:

 

  • Ability to read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Be able to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Ability to perform simple shop math.

  • Must be able to identify and measure material.

  • Must be organized and able to work in coordination with any other department.

  • Ability to speak effectively with employees.

  • Lift parts ranging from 26 lbs. to 60 lbs. frequently.

  • Lift parts ranging from 61 lbs. to 100 lbs. occasionally

  • Push and pull carts ranging from 200 lbs. to 2000 lbs. continuously.

  • Climb occasionally-ladders to work on large parts.

  • Grip continuously-for tool use and parts handling.

  • Ability to handle extreme temperatures.

EQUIPMENT USED TO PERFORM JOB:  Hand tools, measuring equipment, forklifts, hoists, ear plugs, eye protection, safety shoes, protective clothing.
