Responsible for devising efficient systems that integrate workers, machines, materials, and information to make a product or provide a service; and for applying engineering methods in the analysis of existing production lines from raw materials to finished goods to provide safe and efficient manufacturing systems that meet customer, quality, delivery, and cost expectations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
  • Follow all safety standards and policies and ensure a safe operating environment, including use of appropriate protective equipment and identification of potential safety concerns.
  • Design and develop manufacturing methods and sequence, production standards, staffing requirements, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.
  • Maintain an up to date assessment of the production lines capabilities and restrictions
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.
  • Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.
  • Estimate production costs, cost saving methods, and the effects of product design changes on expenditures for management review, action, and control.
  • Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency using drafting tools and computer.
  • Coordinate and implement quality control objectives, activities, or procedures to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, or minimize costs.
  • Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and utilities.
  • Confer with clients, suppliers, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, product and production specifications, manufacturing capabilities, or project status.
  • Provide a process engineering presence on the production floor to assure interaction with team members from all shifts and appropriate process engineering support and feedback for the teams.
  • Provide technical resources for incident investigation, root cause analysis and corrective action. Participate when requested in finished product and raw material MRB process.
  • Provide training to production and support personnel. Develop and implement standard operating procedures. Support and implement standard manufacturing practices.
  • Mentor other engineers and technicians in best practices.

Education and/or Experience:
  • Four-year degree from an accredited college in an Engineering field or equivalent.
