The position is responsible for preparation and analysis of combined financial statements, maintenance of three general ledgers, financial report generation and evaluation, analysis of financial results as well as supporting management. This position supports off-site relationships with a production plant, farm and a land holding company.


Job Duties Include:

  • Preparation of internal and external financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Responsible for period-end close activities to ensure timely completion of tasks
  • Provide financial information to management as requested in a timely and accurate manner
  • Review and/or prepare various financial reports
  • Implement company initiative and maintain a high level of financial and internal controls
  • Exercise judgment in financial, operational, or transactional analysis
  • Handle multiple activities simultaneously and complete or delegate work to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks
  • Communicate and maintain a constant flow of critical information to all levels of the organization
  • Provide accurate forecasting
  • Oversee and participate in the following: accounting for raw potato inventory and revenue recognition recording potato revenues, tracking of potato shipment to/from farm/field, accounting of freight, chemical and fertilizer costs, and determining rebates for farm chemicals
  • Evaluate effectiveness of processes and procedures and develop improvements as needed
  • Participate in internal and external audits
  • Represent yourself and company in a professional and positive manner
  • Willingness to assist co-workers with various tasks and assignments
  • Attend required company meetings and training and participates in constructive discussion
  • Follow all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook
  • Manage the use and maintenance of company facilities and equipment in a professional and safe manner
  • All other duties as assigned by management
  • Candidate must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 2 years related work experience
  • CPA, CMA certification and/or advanced degree beneficial
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, GL Software and Databases
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ability to manipulate large volumes of data
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible schedule depending on the season
  • Knowledge of agriculture or agricultural practices is beneficial
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
