  1. Supports and models behaviors consistent with the mission, vision and values of Altru Health System.
  2. Manages own time so that multiple tasks can be coordinated and are completed in a timely fashion.
  3. Exercises independent judgment in planning, organizing and prioritizing workload. Takes initiative to solve problems.
  4. Assists with special projects or other duties as assigned.

IT Security Intern
  1. Assists with review and/or creation of HIPAA Risk Assessments for new or existing systems and workflows.
  2. Monitors and identifies anomalous network traffic. Review logs for anomalous activity. Escalates findings as appropriate.
  3. Participates in Incident Response Team activities including preparation, identification, containment, eradication, and recovery.
  4. Assists with analysis of digital forensics cases to determine threat vectors and remediation.
  5. Participates in Vulnerability Management process, including creating and distributing reports to stakeholders. Coordinate remediation assignments with Technical Support staff. Investigate and document false-positives.
  6. Participates in Mobile Device Management program, including system administration tasks, workflow implementation, and system support.
  7. Creates high quality documentation for projects completed. Review and update existing documentation as necessary.
  8. Special Projects as assigned. May include Policy Review and Development, Procedure Review and Development, Creation of Education materials, Creation of Security Program Metrics.

IT Security Intern
Required:
  • Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
  • Demonstrates understanding of TCP/IP Stack and related protocols (HTTP, DNS, etc.)
  • Previous experience in IT (Customer support, development, etc.)
  • Willingness to learn regulations and frameworks like HIPAA, PCI, NIST, ISO
Preferred:
  • Powershell/Python/Ruby scripting knowledge
