The Social Worker performs psychosocial and bereavement assessment; identifies and implements psychosocial intervention; participates in the Interdisciplinary Team meetings/care conferences; attends social work meetings, receives social work practice supervision and presents cases; maintains information regarding community/outside resources and explores access to new resources; identifies family support systems; participates in the transfer/discharge planning process; participates in department wide marketing activities; assigns volunteers to patient and families in absence of the Volunteer Coordinator; participates in bereavement programs, and helps develop and facilitate community Grief support groups and programs. Patients cared for include those in the following age groups: infant, children, adolescent adult and geriatric.

• Masters of Social Work (MSW) degree and one (1) year of experience as a licensed social worker in a health care setting or
• Baccalaureate degree in Social Work and one (1) year of experience as a licensed social worker in a health care setting, and be supervised by an MSW who has one (1) year of experience in a health care setting.
• Licensed by the North Dakota Board of Social Work Examiners or the Minnesota Board of Social Work upon hire.
• Must be dual licensed and until licensed in both states, will be restricted to patients only in state currently licensed in.
• Basic computer skills.
• Valid driver's license and have use of personal vehicle to make home visits.
• Must possess current liability motor vehicle insurance.
