Starting salary $11/hour. Temporary and seasonal work, months of May to October. Primarily weekends and holidays. Days of work and hours will vary. Approximately 30 to 35 hours per week. Must be available for training in end of April - May.

Serves to inform and educate the public of threats of ecologically harmful aquatic invasive species to Minnesota's waters. Inspectors work at public water access sites inspecting watercraft for invasive species and educating the public by providing information to watercraft users.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
*Assist with watercraft inspections at public accesses and other locations in Douglas County.
*Provide information and educational materials to recreational boaters, lake-users, lake-property owners and the general public.
*Document passage of recreational watercraft entering and exiting waters infested with harmful invasive species and provide survey data to the DNR.
*Reliable, predictable attendance and punctuality.
*Perform all work in compliance with Douglas County Safety Program, including the AWAIR policy and applicable OSHA standards.

Required Licenses and Other Requirements :
*Possess a valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Qualities:
*Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
*Ability to work as a team.
*Must be able to effectively communicate with the public and law enforcement.
*Willingness to work odd hours and in adverse weather conditions.
