Starting salary $13 per hour. Temporary and seasonal work. Majority of work on weekends and holidays. Days of work and hours will vary. Up to 40 hours per week. Must be available for training. Not to exceed 6 months of employment.

Serves to inform and educate the public of threats of ecologically harmful aquatic invasive species to Minnesota's waters and to decontaminate watercraft of ecologically harmful aquatic invasive species.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
*Inspection of watercraft for aquatic invasive species (AIS) and decontamination of high-risk watercraft.
*Education of the public water users about harmful AIS and the prevention of AIS transport.
*Data collection on boater knowledge, regulation compliance, and watercraft use patterns.
*Additional responsibilities may include assisting with County Zoning compliance issues and complaints.
*Reliable, predictable attendance and punctuality.
*Perform all work in compliance with Douglas County Safety Program, including the AWAIR policy and applicable OSHA standards.

Required Education
*High school diploma or G.E.D. plus one year of college or technical school with course work or experience in natural resource management, environmental science, biology, law enforcement, or similar areas.

Required Licenses and Other Requirements :
*Possess a valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License.
*Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Qualities:
*Excellent communication, organization, human relations, and public relations skills.
*Excellent written and oral communication with the public, media, agencies, and law enforcement.
*Ability to be self-directed and organized.
*Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
*Ability to work as a team.
*Willingness to work odd hours and in adverse weather conditions.
