Sugarbeet Research Assistant
Position: Sugarbeet Research Assistant
Duration: Late April through Early October
Job Description: The individual will assist in field research trials at various locations around the Red River Valley. Work will be mostly outdoors unless field conditions are too wet. Responsibilities include assisting with work associated with field plots such as collecting and typing up data, taking stand counts, light hand weeding, help with plant sampling, mixing fungicide treatments, basic lab work and operating small tractors.
Qualification: Person has to be able to pay close attention to detail: Be mature, responsible and reliable, has the ability to work either independently or within a small group, has a good driving record, needs good communication skills and be able to follow instructions.
Other information: Must be comfortable operating small tractors and loading/unloading trailers hauled behind pickup trucks. Must be comfortable operating pickup-trailer combination. Position will be roughly 40 hours/week. Pay will be $15.00/hour
