Building Location: Essentia Grand Rapids Clinic

Job Description: Is responsible for the accurate computer entry and processing of prescriptions, preparing unit dose medications, and non-sterile bulk compounding. Job duties also include inventory control, care of supplies and equipment, accurate cash handling, customer service, both in person and over the telephone, and the resolution of customer service issues. Assists the pharmacist in all aspects of the daily departmental activities, including training of new staff and pharmacy students, billing, record keeping and other clerical functions, monthly audits, and other duties as assigned by the pharmacist.
Education Qualifications:
If working in a MN location, must meet one of these three education/experience categories as defined by the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy:
• Previous experience as a pharmacy technician with maintenance of continuous registration as a pharmacy technician with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy dating back prior to January 1st 2013.
• Completion of a board-approved technician training program.
• Willingness to complete the Essentia Health employer-based technician training program within first 90 days of employment.
Licensure/CertificationQualifications:
•Registered as a pharmacy technician in the state in which they will be working (Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota) on or before their first day in the pharmacy
•Certified by the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board, or must obtain certification within 1 year of hire.
•Must maintain registration and certification for the duration of employment.

Shift End Time: 6:30pm
