JOB SUMMARY

Contribute to Sanford operations and processes while obtaining first hand experience that align with the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Must have good human relations and communications skills; must be able to follow procedures and instructions given by the leadership staff. Must have strong problem solving, leadership, and analytical skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The patient experience intern will work to support caregivers throughout the medical center and clinics to drive higher level of service and exceptional patient care. The work is based on patient feedback (surveys and real time), opportunities identified by leadership, and strategy. Part of the role includes project management, curriculum development, and creation of tool kits to support messaging, communication, and implementation of patient experience across the enterprise. The candidate will be responsible for developing presentations, collateral, and report outs for the department. Each day is exciting and challenging as we work to maneuver a large and complex system to drive consistencies around experience for those we serve. The candidate will be able to network across the enterprise and medical center and will work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and superb organizational capability. Internship Responsibilities:
  • Project: Customer service training
  • Project: Communication and empathy curriculum
  • Mentor/Preceptor specific activities: department specific training
  • Attend meetings, help with agendas and minutes
  • Project timelines and collateral

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Varying levels of education based on Internship.
  • Must be a Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare field or an immediate graduate.
  • Must be able to commit to the hours scheduled during the 12 week internship.
  • Strong communication skills
