Must have good human relations and communications skills; must be able to follow procedures and instructions given by the leadership staff. Must have strong problem solving, leadership, and analytical skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products.


This position offers candidates the opportunity to learn about Center for Medicare/Medicaid service (CMS) and Joint Commission regulations and their impact on health systems. The primary responsibilities will be compiling, analyzing, and displaying data in a meaningful way for senior leaders. This position also offers the opportunity to network with all Sanford regional sites due to the nature of the enterprise work. Internship Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and track past survey findings across the Sanford Enterprise
  • Develop and standardize audit/observation tools
  • The position offers 1-1 mentor sessions with department leader, exposure to system change and senior level leaders
  • Various day to day activities assigned as needed.


    Varying levels of education based on Internship.
  • Interested in quality improvement, system design, and data analytics, with an interest in healthcare leadership preferred
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft excel and report development
  • Must be a Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration or related major or an immediate graduate having received one of the previously listed majors
  • Must be able to commit to the hours scheduled during the 12 week internship
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
