Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to assist in providing individualized nursing care. Performs delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care and supports the activities of the department under the direct instruction of a registered nurse preceptor. Will have knowledge of and utilize appropriate population-specific patient care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of all ages of patients.Has ability and willingness to follow written and verbal instructions and work closely with a registered nurse preceptor and Clinical Nurse Educator. Utilizes the nursing process and with the registered nurse, participates in formulating nursing diagnosiss when planning patient care. Has the vision and values that are compatible with the organization. Must be able to work with growth and development needs of unique client populations.


Caring for patients in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up as patients move in and out of ambulatory care settings. Utilizing the professional nursing process to provide individualized nursing care to patients.Coordinating care, patient screenings, patient education, triage, and various other medical interventions. Functioning within the scope and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the state specific Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules. Recognizing the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as published by the American Nurses Association as the foundation for nursing care delivery.


Must be enrolled in a summer nursing internship course with a school in the state in which they are completing the experience. This does not apply to the state of South Dakota. Must be enrolled in an accredited four-year baccalaureate Nursing Program and have completed your third year of a nursing program
