Prairie St. John's Nursing Student Internship Program is designed to give nursing students work experience in psychiatric nursing. Nursing students who are within 12 months of graduation are paired with a clinical mentor. The nursing student intern will observe and may assist the clinical mentor with completing their work during the course of a normal shift. The length of the internship varies between 4 – 10 weeks depending on the student’s class schedule and mentor availability.
Students who apply must be enrolled in a U.S. accredited nursing school with a strong interest in a career in psychiatric nursing. Preference will be given to current or former employees in good standing and students with an average grade of an A or B. To be considered, submit an application letter to PSJHR@uhsinc.com. Please include your contact information; educational background; average grades in nursing school; anticipated graduation date; applicable work experience, if any; and a summary of why you are interested in psychiatric nursing.
