Assists the therapy staff by performing routine duties and transporting patients requiring therapy to and from the department. Aides are responsible for assisting the therapists in carrying out the patients plan of care as appropriate. Aides are responsible for participating in handoff communication within the care team to gather/ provide pertinent information as it relates to the patient's plan of care, medical status. Must have the skills necessary to assist in the treatment of a diverse age group of patients with a wide variety of diagnosis/ medical conditions/growth and development needs. Understanding of standard techniques used in providing personal services for patients, and some knowledge of the procedures and equipment used by the therapists. Must be able to transfer/transport patients safely.


Maintains a high standard in relation to infection control for patient safety. Knowledge of the value of self-motivation and initiative; ability and willingness to seek out work and the drive to accomplish goals. Identifies the sufficient inventory levels required for patient safety and operational efficiency. Identifies common patient safety risks within the organization and how they can be avoided. Demonstrates understanding of patient assessment and therapy implementation. Establishes and maintains productive working relationships within and outside of own area.


Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 6 months of employment. High School Diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) required. On-the-job training will be provided.
