Job Description
Prairie St. John's, a 110-bed psychiatric care facility located in Fargo, North Dakota, has been providing services for children, adolescents and adults to address mental health and substance use challenges since 1997. Prairie offers a full-service psychiatric and addiction Continuum of Care. This Continuum of Care includes inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization, residential treatment, intensive outpatient services and clinic services. Prairie St. John's currently has a part time Utilization Review Specialist position available. The candidates selected will be responsible for the following:
Job Requirements
Requires licensure as an LPCC, LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or maintains current licensure as an RN
Must have critical thinking skills, problem-solving and the ability to communicate and make safe judgment calls.
Must be able to multi-task and communicate in a professional manner in both verbal and written format.
Must have basic computer skills using Microsoft Office Outlook and email.

- Reviews clinical data on assigned patients and attends treatment team meetings to develop an understanding of each patient.
- Investigates the payer guidelines and the requirements necessary to justify a particular level of care and benefit limitations for each patient.
- Communicates this information with the treatment team and educates on what, if any, documentation is necessary.
- This position will be scheduled to work 20 hours per week from 8 am to 4:30 pm.
