Staff Accountant

This position will support the Finance department by carrying out a wide range of practical accounting tasks including, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger support as well as general administrative support.  The job functions will require skills in working with financial and operating/ERP systems and Excel as well as interfacing with customers, vendors, and outside professional service providers.



Accounts Receivable:  Responsible for Accounts Receivable.  Runs monthly statements for customers and follows up on overdue accounts.  


Accounts Payable:  Serves as the backup for Accounts Payable. 


Expense Reporting:  Responsible for review and processing of all company expense reports.  On a monthly basis, reconciles all company credit card charges to expense reports and verifies correct coding.  Also prepares requests for disbursements.  


General Accounting:  Performs general ledger accounting duties including journal entries, month-end close activities, financial statement preparation, account analysis, and reconciliation.  Assists with annual budget and forecasting.  Prepares audit schedules for annual external audit and assists auditors during the onsite visit.


Tax/Compliance:  Files monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax returns.  Assists with tax schedules for annual income tax returns. Completes business registrations and annual filings.




Education, Experience and/or Training

  • Two-year degree in finance or accounting
  • 1 year of related experience
  • Proficient with computers
  • Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel and Power Point Software
  • Previous experience in manufacturing
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
