    • JOB SUMMARY
      • The Board of Directors has adopted a Corporate Compliance Program, which is designed to prevent, detect, and correct violations of applicable laws. The Board and the President/CEO are ultimately responsible for the Compliance Program. The Vice President-Compliance is granted the responsibility and authority by the St. Luke's Board of Directors to develop, implement, communicate, maintain and improve the Corporate Compliance Program for St. Luke's Hospital, St. Luke's Clinics, St. Luke's Home Care and Hospice, Lake View Hospital, and Cook County North Shore Hospital. The Compliance Program is designed to prevent, detect and correct violations of all applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations. The Vice President-Compliance is responsible for overseeing all activities related to risk assessment, risk reduction, investigation of alleged violations, and provision of compliance education, as reviewed by the President/CEO. In order to fulfill these responsibilities, as listed more specifically below, the Vice President-Compliance has direct access to all senior management, and to internal and external legal counsel.
    • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
      • Education: Bachelor's Degree in related field required.
      • Experience: Minimum eight (8) years progressive responsibilities in a hospital or health system setting, at least four (4) of which is professional experience in a healthcare compliance function.
      • Licensure/Certification/Registration: N/A
    • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
      • Education: Master's Degree, preferably in health related field, law or business administration.
      • Experience: Two (2) years of supervisory or managerial experience in healthcare.
      • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC).
    • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
      • Thorough knowledge of healthcare compliance and regulatory requirements as established by CMS, state healthcare programs, OIG and other applicable regulatory bodies. Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing requirements. The ability to solve problems and communicate effectively with all levels of staff, managers, directors and senior management. Ability to handle multiple projects. Experience developing strategic plans aligned with the organization's mission. Demonstrated leadership skills and excellent oral and written communication skills. Computer literate with various software platforms required.
      • READING - Advanced: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquires or complaints.
      • WRITING - Advanced: Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
      • SPEAKING - Advanced: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, top management, public groups, clients, customers, and the general public.
      • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Advanced: Ability to comprehend and apply advanced mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
      • REASONING ABILITY - Advanced Skills: Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
