Job Information

The primary responsibility of the Director of Digital Business is to monetize and commercialize the company’s Telematics solution(s). This includes driving the execution of an array of cross-functional digital solutions that create incremental revenue, profit, cost savings or cost avoidance for the organization. To ensure these solutions are holistic and align to the digital initiative, the team will also provide digital insight, thought leadership and customer intimacy in this space to other areas of the business. In addition, the director and their team will champion the “big data and analytics” initiative by being responsible for the delivery and accuracy of key overarching companywide performance metrics while working to expand the business intelligence competency of every functional area.

Role & Responsibility

Monetization of Strategic Digital Initiatives
  • Identify, prioritize and validate internal/external customer digital needs.
  • Visualize and develop a plan to produce digital solutions to meet those needs.
  • Validate the true opportunity of the business and activation models of digital solutions.
  • Ensure the delivery, activation and financial contribution of digital initiatives align to AOP.

Digital Business Strategy
  • Create, justify execute and analyze a long-range plan for the company’s strategic digital business.
  • Partner with functional areas to prioritize the overall digital initiative and ensure business use cases align to achieve annual market share, revenue and operating income objectives.

Expand the Big Data and Analytics Competency of the Company
  • Conduct a gap analysis of each functional area.
  • Prioritize opportunity and align resources to strategic business needs.
  • Partner with functional leaders to expand the business intelligence competency of their area.
  • Achieve commitment, adoption and sustainment in every functional area to drive the business intelligence expansion.
  • Create a “pool of BI talent” with a career path to becoming a subject matter experts/analysts for a functional area.


Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Marketing, Mathematics, or Computer Engineering
  • Masters preferred
  • Experience Required: 15+ years
  • Travel Required: 10 - 24%
  • 5+ years of industry experience in data science; data analytics, applied research, data mining and/or machine learning preferred
  • 5+ years in manufacturing or BtoB business
  • 5+ years of account management preferred
  • Strong in vision, ideas and execution.
  • History of innovation in online IoT BtoB marketing.
  • Experience using demand generation tools and techniques, including marketing automation software and CRM systems.
  • Ability to cultivate productive working relationships with internal stakeholders and business partners.
  • Strong creative and strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Strong strategic and creative thinker
  • Experience in Brand, marketing programs/content through social channels and understanding of how to build large scale, global digital brand and social programs
  • Demonstrated proficient skillset in statistical/analytic modeling in SAP or OBIEE, Salesforce, or other statistical platforms.
  • Demonstrated strong financial acumen
  • Demonstrated exceptional vendor management competency
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively persuade/influence
  • Ability to create a team environment that develops individuals through collaboration, leveraging and evolving skill sets while constantly improving processes
