    • JOB SUMMARY
      • The Computer Support Specialist is responsible for the operation of computers in accordance with established principles and policies; support on the Help Desk, hardware and software configuration for all PCs, problem solves computer related problems, and performs other related computer tasks.
    • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
      • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
      • Experience: One (1) year experience in computer support.
      • Licensure/Certification/Registration: N/A
    • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
      • Education: Technical School diploma/certificate in Computer Information.
      • Experience: N/A
      • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certifications: A+, Net+.
    • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
      • General knowledge of the following functions: 1) basic operations, 2) on-line operations, 3) multi-processing environments, 4) familiarity of operating systems (Apple OS, DOS), 5) familiarity of virtual environments, 6) personal computers, Network systems, UPS system, Halon system, PC servers, and Kronos system; general knowledge of principles and practices of computer operations; ability to follow verbal or written instructions; ability to describe problems in a clear and precise manner; ability to exercise good judgment and accept personal responsibilities; ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing; ability to communicate effectively with various levels of Hospital personnel; ability to perform independently and handle multiple assignments; to work under stressful situations.
      • READING - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
      • WRITING - Intermediate: Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, or procedures.
      • SPEAKING - Intermediate: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group situations or before groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
      • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Basic Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
      • REASONING ABILITY - Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
