Must have strong problem solving, leadership, and analytical skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products.


The Systems Analyst intern will gain in-depth understanding of systems analysis and feature prioritization using agile practices. You'll work with Software Engineers, Bioinformaticians, Laboratory technicians and robots as you help us build genetic testing pipelines. Internship responsibilities:
  • Primary Project: Assisting the Lead analyst to gather user stories and technical specifications around Imagenetics' upcoming deliverable: Polygenic Risk Scores
  • Secondary Project: Assist with the standardization of agile/scrum practices utilizing the Atlassian suite
  • Mentor duties: 1-on-1 mentor sessions with lead analyst, lead software engineer, attend engineering brown bags, attend SF developers' meetups, Attend SF Lean/Agile Center of Practice meetings)
  • Work with Lead Analyst to help gather user stories and system specifications from users
  • Attend/assist with standard scrum meetings (Sprint planning/standups/review/retrospective)
  • Assist with management of user stories and standardization of agile practices within the Atlassian tool set
  • Assist with rollout/reinforcement of Agile practices
  • Assist with rollout/reinforcement of Atlassian tool set


    Varying levels of education based on Internship
  • Candidates should be outgoing, inquisitive and passionate about software engineering
  • Ideal candidates will have a technical background; programming and/or hardware hacking on their free time
  • Must be a junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business, etc. or an immediate graduate having received one of the previously listed majors.
  • Must be able to commit to the hours scheduled during the 12-week internship.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
