Operates mammography equipment and performs various mammography-related examinations to produce radiograph images for clinical screening and diagnostic purposes. Ensures accurate body positioning and provides mammograms to women under direct supervision. Implements radiation safety standards and relevant policies into imaging practices. Processes and evaluates the technical quality of images, such as density contrast, definition and distortion. Checks and adjusts equipment regularly to ensure their functionality. Delivers care and support services to clients before, during and after mammogram procedures, e.g. explaining procedures, answering inquiries, etc. Maintains records and files associated with mammography. Educates women on breast self-examinations and the importance of mammography in preventing breast cancer.


The Mammography Technologist , under direct supervision, performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in women/men patients for our client facilities. Prepares patients for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety. Mammography Technologist may perform screening exams or diagnostic exams. Maintains confidentiality of all patient information according to federal and state guidelines and regulations. General radiologic technologist must demonstrates knowledge of current techniques and procedures used in radiology, including the use of specialized equipment utilizing ionizing radiation, to produce diagnostic images for interpretation. Must have a caring attitude, the ability to work well with ill or injured patients and work cooperatively with fellow employees. Required to have the ability to adapt and facilitate change. Ability to work a flexible schedule.


Current ARRT or registry eligible required. ARRT mammography certification required or/within one year of employment. Must be licensed with the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (MIRT) board. CPR certification within 6 weeks of employment and re-certification as required. Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program, registered, or registry eligible
