Mental Health Professional/Clinical Trainee

The White Earth Tribal Council is currently seeking a qualified candidate to be responsible for direct services provided to clients referred for mental health services within the Tribal Behavioral Structure. This position provides quality mental health deliver within a culturally specific treatment model; services are maximized for the public; billing is maximized for those
services; and competency is maximized to consistently meet audit requirements.
 Provides Assessments to referred clientele.
 Ensures clients are provided with mental health services.
 Ensures practitioners are appropriately supervised.
 Maximizes billing for the program.
 Ensure cultural services for families experiencing issues.
 Ensures documentation meets agency standards.
 Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
 Knowledge of principles, techniques and trends in counseling, psychotherapy, substance abuse and various treatment modalities.
 Knowledge of biological, behavioral and environmental aspects of emotional disturbances, mental health disability, and substance abuse.
 Knowledge of the scope and activities of tribal, public, and private health and child welfare agencies and other available community, tribal, country, state, and federal resources.
 Ability to prepare treatment plans, client treatment recommendations, and a variety of reports.
 Ability to handle stress and unstable client behavior.
 Knowledge of Tribal laws, Tribal codes, and ability to work effectively with all different styles of clients.
 Knowledge of federal laws including Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA), government regulations, federal privacy act and agency rules.

Qualifications:
 Masters or Doctorate Degree in psychology, counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy accredited college or university.
 Possession of a current license to practice in one of the following fields: psychology, clinical social work, clinical counseling, or marriage and family therapy license must be submitted with application.
 2-years of professional experience working in psychology, mental health counseling, psychotherapy, assessment, or related social service filed.
 Driver’s License and insurance to drive between sites.
 Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
 Must have knowledge of traditional systems of healing.
 Must be in good standing in the Native Community.
