The primary function of this position is to operate stand up and sit down forklift to unload/load trucks as well as relocate inventory. Efficiently and accurately receive incoming inventory. Wrap, bag, and tape glass and liquid items in preparation for shipping to customers. Pull and palletize items for replenishment of east and west coast distribution centers. Stock items in support of the wrapping of glass and liquid items based on current customer orders.

Essential Responsibilities:
Forklift Operation

  • Unload and load freight using the sit down forklift. Verify piece counts and inspect freight for damages. Note damage on the Bill of Lading and piece count variances, as well as inspect and log the condition of incoming and outgoing trailers.
  • Use the stand up forklift to pull items for the east and west coast distribution centers which cannot be reached from the ground.
  • Put up and remove combo pallets from the flow racking in preparation for shipment to the east and west coast distribution centers.
  • Put products and supplies away in the upper locations of the product racking.


Receiving
  • Accurately and efficiently receive national brand products at receiving stations.
  • Sort National Brand items based on primary and secondary zone.
  • Sort bulk, private label finished goods, and raw material by item and apply license plate to product while verifying license plate information matches item information.
  • Record product information for National Brands, Private Label, Bulk, and Raw Material so that it can be received by a lead.
  • Move products to appropriate secondary location once the items have been received, license plated, and reviewed by Quality Control and transfer inventory using a PC or RF gun.
  • Complete the Receiving Discrepancy Form for any receiving inaccuracies that arise.


Wrapping
  • Tape, wrap, and/or bag glass and liquid items as required by wrapping standards.
  • Place items in appropriate container for storage in prime location or for transport in the mini load (ML) or carousel (SCS).
  • Use a PC or RF gun to transfer items to appropriate completed location.


Hot Sheets
  • Pull items from secondary locations that need to be wrapped based on electronic "Hot Sheet" report for hand and machine wrapping.
  • Using a PC or RF gun, transfer items from secondary locations to wrapping staging location.


East and West Coast Replenishment
  • Pull ground and prime location items using an East or West Coast pull list.
  • Create combo pallets and transfer items to current truck location.
  • Print and verify item list after combo pallet creation.
  • Move completed pallets to appropriate staging area once finished using an electric or manual pallet jack.
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
  • Conducts self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of SHP.


Competencies Required:
  • Ability to provide prompt and reliable attendance
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust, grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects or controls of the machine to exact positions
  • Forklift certification (Swanson Health Products will train)
  • Good dexterity for hand and foot controls used in forklift operation
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Experience Required: High school diploma or equivalent GED.
