    • JOB SUMMARY
      • The Dietitian is responsible for the evaluation of individual patient's medical nutrition therapy needs, communicating nutritional information to medical staff/other health team members, assisting in maintaining operations of the diet office and providing education and counseling to patients and their families/caregivers, community groups and Hospital programs. Responsible for providing contract nutrition services to facilities outside the Hospital as assigned.
    • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
      • Education: Four (4) year degree.
      • Experience: N/A
      • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Current licensure with MN State Board of Dietetics and Nutrition.
    • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

      • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certified Diabetes Educator.
    • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
      • Current nutrition knowledge; verbal skills; ability to communicate with others in understandable manner; ability to work with a team; courteous, sensitive to other's needs; ability to communicate in writing; able to prioritize and organize days work as well as for long term goals and work within time frame; ability to work flexible hours. Ability to effectively and efficiently commute between work sites and if driving private vehicle must provide St. Luke's with a copy of driver's license and proof of insurance.
      • READING - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
      • WRITING - Intermediate: Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, or procedures.
      • SPEAKING - Intermediate: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group situations or before groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
      • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Basic Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
      • REASONING ABILITY - Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
      • AGE SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES - Skilled at assessment and knowledgeable of growth and development. Provides appropriate care respective to the ages of the patients served per clinical environment.
